Canvas & format

The canvas is the shape of the finished file. Pick it by where the video is going — it changes composition, not just crop.

Native portraitThe phone’s own sizeDocs, changelogs, embeds, anywhere tall is fine.

Horizontal1920 × 1080 (16:9)Landing pages, YouTube, decks, X posts.

What changes with the shape

  • Vertical keeps the phone tall and centered, with canvas above and below for captions.
  • Horizontal centers the portrait phone on a wide canvas and gives you real margin either side — which is where captions go, beside the phone rather than under it.
  • Native is the recording’s own size with padding around it: the tightest crop, the least room for copy.

Deciding late is fine — the canvas is a re-render of the existing recording, not a re-shoot.
